So this has been a week of rest and I am trying not to resent lying around while we are experiencing some of the most beautiful autumn weather. And, according to the forecast, this is it...the last sunny warm day!
The trees have just peaked here and I wanted to get some shots of the dogwood tree I see from my kitchen window. Once outside, I kept shooting. It's a long time to next October.
I just had to get a shot of the Chatta-Egg peaking between the branches!
My favorite shrub is a native plant, oakleaf hydrangea. I am fortunate enough to have a few in my back yard. You can see why I love it.
This is our neighbor's yard.
Another neighbor.
I had to take a few flower shots. I feel so guilty about our gardens....we travel now instead of pulling weeds and mulching. The plants are just hanging in there.
Cleome or spiderflower.
Cypress Vine
My husband is a talented bird house maker. Just throwing in one more shot with color.
What a beautiful bird house! Does he sell these?
ReplyDeleteHi BJ! My husband will be so pleased that you liked it, but no, it was a one of a kind thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd BJ, thank you for being a follower!
DeleteOh Gee, Lynne the fall color shots, especially dogwoods (my favorite) are just beautiful. Sorry you were under the weather - I joined you this week too and we are feeling better right? Mother Nature helps out on that side.
ReplyDeleteLove David's birdhouse - reminds me of something from the Swiss Alps! What lucky birds to have such a beautiful house to come to.
Our 70+º days are pretty much "a stroke of winter luck" now. Not a fan of under 55º weather. Take care you two.
Emily, sorry to hear that you have also not been well. Hope it all has passed...I am feeling much better today.
DeleteI still have Milford, Kansas on my weather channel locations and I am struck with the extremes. It was so much hotter there in Sept and now, much colder!
David has always been the more creative one. He got the right brain and I got the left.
Oh, my! Dogwoods like I have never seen them! There are definite drawbacks to living this far south!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you are sick. I'd resent not being able to spend time outside in those surroundings, too. Hope you're feeling happy and energetic again soon.
I had to expand the photo to see how the curved hobbit-style birdhouse roof was made. How cool! Sure hope the occupants appreciated their fine digs! :)
Glad to report that the energy is returning..plan to walk today.
DeleteI have been passing on the complements to David and he is so modest....wants everyone to know that the birdhouse was built from plans.
Hope you and Ron are well!
Gorgeous fall colors and the birdhouse is lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteHad you in mind when I decided to take more color picts!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading about you two camping with Wheeling It!
It's so much fun to meet and camp with another blogger. And there is always so much that can be learned.
Your pictures are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Sue, for your nice words and thank you for leaving a comment!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Wish we were there to see those colors in person. Would have truly loved to drive up the Ocoee and Nantahala River Gorge's this past weekend. Keep up the great posts. Also glad to read that you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jerry! The colors here have been splendid.
ReplyDeleteAlways great to hear from you!
I"ll be sure and pass on the birdhouse complement to my hubby!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having good weather and are not being affected by "Sandy". The sun is shining here but we may get a little wind tomorrow.
Good to hear from you!
Lynne, a few months ago, you purchased a signal booster which you mentioned in the blog. Wondering how that's worked out for you. Has it made a significant improvement? Heard of anything that you would purchase in its place instead? Thanks for your comments
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you will see this as this is last year's post, but I have not used the Wilson Sleek as much as I thought I would. Some of the other bloggers have had much better luck...Borderbrae and Horst really like it. I believe my problem is in the antenna. I did not purchase the much taller trucker's antenna and have only been using the little 6 inch one that comes with it. No, I have not heard of anything that I would buy in place of it. I have Verizon and it works on my cell phone (which I use as a hot spot) so most of the time I need no amplification. Hope this helps!
